Church Is Messy: Expedition Ready - Learning
In this episode of Church Is Messy, Rick Henderson and Svea Merry explore the learning stage of the spiritual journey. They discuss why humility matters, why direction matters more than speed, and why growing in faith involves more than collecting information about God.
Rick and Svea talk about reading Scripture to encounter Jesus and become more like him, including a practical introduction to Lectio Divina. Drawing on the disciples' journey on the road to Emmaus, they consider honest prayer, learning in community, and the patient way Jesus helps people come to understanding. They also offer encouragement for people entering this stage for the first time and for longtime learners who want their knowledge to shape how they live.
